no pictures

No pictures of this weekend and the airline is to blame. I was in New York this weekend for the wedding shower of a cousin. I had a great time, and got to see tons of family I hadn't seen in forever. Then, because of a long story, I had to check my bag once I got to the gate and was ready to board the plane. They said that it'd be at the baggage claim once I got to Indy... no such luck. Then they said that it'd be on the next plane in later that evening and would be delivered to my door by now... also no suck luck. After searching online and talking to the automated voice on the phone, I learned that the bag has yet to be located at all. Any bets on when/if it will get back to me?

So because I wasn't expecting to check my bag, I shoved several things in there at the last second without really thinking-- my camera was one of them. Darn. Never check anything that valuable!! I know that, I really do, but who can make good decisions when they're ready to board and the gate attendant tells you you can't take the bag on the plane and you're rushing to fill stuff out.

So here's the run down of what I'm bummed to be missing...
Camera, newly purchased a few months ago.
Hair dryer. I loved that hair dryer.
Flat iron. Was thinking of replacing it anyway, but still.
Necklace & earrings that I really loved. On certain days they are my favorites.
All make up I use on a daily basis, plus the brush set that I use.
My favorite jeans. Got them on sale of course so they were really cheap, but I loved them and they fit super well. Why didn't I wear them on the plane instead??

Looking over the list I estimate that it would take about $700 to replace it all (mainly because of the camera), if I would replace everything. Not to mention the bag. We probably wouldn't replace the bag, but still. And I'm still holding out hope that it's located and returned without any damage!

It was a very quick trip but because of the shower I got to see almost all of my mom's family and catch up with everyone. What a treat!

** UPDATE **

I just realized another bummer. My coat was tucked into the bag at the last minute as well. Not only was a great coat, but I just spent $80 to get it relined. I've had it for a long time, and thought it'd last forever. Still holding out hope that it's found!
