5 months today

Ethan still enjoys sitting up, interacting with people and playing games. Here's a video of a new game that we've been playing the past few days:


if I press on his tummy, he starts talking and keeps going for quite some time :) I still have a hard time keeping up with his fingernails as you can see from the pictures. He's quite a ham for his daddy, and loves it when his daddy "rabble-rouses" with him by flipping him upside down, throwing him up in the air, growls at him, etc. He continues to be such an easy-going baby and not much phases him.

His reaching for things continues to improve and he is fascinated with food and drinks. Of course, everything goes right into his mouth, so we have to watch what he can get into since he definitely has started reaching for things that we're holding or eating. He's also become quite a traveler and has been on several trips already in his short lifetime. We're done for a while though, thankfully! Ethan is such a joy to our lives, and we just love seeing more of his personality shine through as he grows.

house update

So we have a signed purchase agreement. The next step on our house purchase is through! This is a positive sign. Still more waiting to do, but I'm very hopeful and am liking this house more and more as time goes by :) I really hope that we are able to purchase it!!

trip part 2

trip to Lafayette

We made a super quick trip "back home" to Lafayette to see my little brother Joe graduate from college. It was too short, but we at least got to see a lot of people. Would have liked to spend much more time, especially with my family, but that will have to be for another trip.


These last two pictures show a place in Wisconsin that will forever be burned into my memory. We stopped for a quick restroom break and to fill up with gas. Ended up having to call 911 because I locked Ethan and our keys in the car. THANK GOODNESS he was out of the sun, sleeping, and we were super close to a phone. He didn't realize what happened at all. I was a mess, but kept reminding myself that it could have been much worse. $52 later, we were on our way again.

a new thing every day

A new baby was added to our family yesterday!! Saige Mae Thomasma (Steve's sister and brother in law's first) weighed in at a whopping 9lbs 1oz. I got to see her briefly yesterday evening right before bed. Ethan came with, but he slept the entire trip :) I absolutely cannot wait to see her again and hold and cuddle with her.

And Ethan made a new discovery over the weekend:
He has feet! And he loves to grab them. On Sunday he was trying to put them in his mouth, and he kept tickling himself and giggling. It was pretty adorable.

We keep getting updated on the house that we put an offer on, and we're still waiting and hoping. It's not a done deal, but it's getting closer. We're positive about it.

Today, Steve and I might just be placing an offer on a house! Yay! If things progress positively, we'll be posting details for sure :) We're cautiously excited!
