Busy week at our house

Hannah Katherine was born on 5/5/14. 8lbs 4oz and 20" long. She's amazing. She's already loved by lots of people, including her big brother who wants to give everything he can to her. He's learned that graham crackers aren't the best snack for newborns, and that dirty diapers aren't really something you want to stick around for.

And the first day we were home from the hospital this started happening at our house.

It's our front patio, and driveway being replaced, along with our garage floor and back patio. Good thing babies can sleep through jackhammers. The rest of us aren't so fortunate :)

I don't have many pics of the process because my attention has been on a certain baby girl. It's looking really good so far and I'm so excited to have it complete.

Hannah has her one week well check tomorrow and I'll get her updated stats. She had her jaundice levels checked on Thursday and she wasn't quite back up to her birth weight. I'm not worried about it if the way she is eating is any indicator she will be well past that mark tomorrow.

induction day

I'm on the schedule at labor and delivery at my hospital Monday morning! Looks like baby girl will most likely be born on Cinco de Mayo. :) We are so excited to meet her and see her little face finally. 3 more days!!

Dismantler

This little cutie pie has a way of distroying things that you'd never have thought could be taken apart or destroyed. Latest victim - 35' tape measurer. This little piece is crucial, turns out.

39 weeks

One week until my due date. I didn't make it this far with Ethan. Hospital bag is packed. Sleep is getting pretty difficult along with the fact that I seem to have more false labor while I'm laying down which is difficult to sleep through. We are so anxious to meet baby girl. And I think we have finalized a name...

36 weeks tomorrow

And some pictures of our latest crafts. I bought a craft organizer so lately Ethan's favorite thing to do is go through it and pick out a messy, gluey, glittery thing to do :)
Making swirled Easter eggs
Finished our nest

Resurrection scene that ended up being a little glitzy by the time Ethan was finished :)

precious moments with my newly 4(!!) year old

Steve's putting Ethan to bed and Ethan came in very seriously to tell me something. He told me that he was really sorry for running away from me after church this morning, and for disobeying on the way home. I thanked him for his apology and told him that I forgive him and went to give him a hug. "And here's some trash for you" he interrupted my hug to give me a sticker that wasn't sticking to his face anymore. I thanked him for the trash. "And I wanted to tell you a joke. How do you catch a butterfly?" I don't know, how? "You act like a tree."

Such precious little fun moments with my kiddo. He's getting so big :)

I have birthday pics and videos to post. It came and went so quickly and now he's four!

31 weeks and starting to thaw

We played outside today!! Ethan was out for 2 hours right before dinner. He had a blast climbing the mountain of icy snow in our front yard.

I've only got just over 8 weeks until my due date. Mainly just feeling tired, sore and so excited to meet baby girl.

28 weeks

I'm 2/3 done!

And I'm also surviving my first cold/sickness while pregnant. Pretty lucky to go the first and 2/3 of the 2nd before catching a bug.

25 weeks

Love how Ethan's making faces.

New ride!

This is a horrible picture, but we bought a "new" (to us) mini van. We picked it up last night and tonight Ethan convinced us to go out in the snow, to the Lego store. It took quite a while to get there in rush hour and the snow on top of it, so the boys rode in the back seat and watched a DVD. Yes, I have always been against having a DVD player in the car so I tried to explain to my son, who was watching in awe and amazement, that DVDs are only for special occasions... That might have fallen on deaf ears. I'm really liking the power doors and remote locks. Luxury for us!

24 weeks - nursery project!

Wow, I'm almost 25 weeks along now! "Baby sister" (as she's commonly being referred to in our house) seems to be doing great, and is still putting me through the ringer. Thanks to nausea meds, and taking it easy, I'm making it through pretty well though. The braxton hicks started early and were just a couple of times a week. Now they're up to several times a day. Nothing too hard to deal with but they're not comfortable :)  So strange, having never had them with Ethan until the very end when labor would have been alright with me.

I've started making purchases to transform the nursery from a bold boy's room to a soft girl's room. Ethan helped me pick out and put up these fun 3d flowers on the wall. I also bought some purple bedding, some purple butterflies and dragonflies to hang from the ceiling, and a curtains for the window. I think that should just about do it for the decorating, unless I find some artwork that catches my eye. And maybe a purple and lace frilly pillow for the glider.

My prenatal appointments are going to start getting interesting now. I have only 1 left before my 3rd trimester is here! Glucose testing, rhogam shot, all those fun things next time around.
