more videos

I've posted some of the longer videos of Ethan here. Enjoy!

learning to suck his... thumb? fingers? arms?

Ethan isn't picky about what he wants... he'll suck on his fist:
or his arm:
or sometimes both fists at the same time:
Once in a while he'll get a finger in his mouth and suck on that, and he might have gotten his thumb a time or two. We'll see which one he settles on. It's so cute to see him raise his arm up straight, and then open his mouth and start to suck on his chubby arm :)

Oh, and the biggest news of all... drum roll... is that WE SOLD OUR HOUSE!!! Well, pending they close on their house without any problems, and the inspection goes well, we'll close within a month! Praise the Lord, what a relief to have that off our shoulders. We were starting to have to pay to have someone come by to take care of the yard, and a few other expenses that really start to add up. So we're very thankful that it's the end of home ownership in Indiana. Thank you for all your prayers, I know there were a lot of people praying for us and we're very thankful.

funny video

He's so interactive, it's great!

So the latest word on our house is that there is a couple that's wanting to place an offer! They wanted some further information, so Steve got that to them on Friday, and their realtor confirmed that they were wanting to put in an offer early this week! We'll see what it looks like, but it's encouraging to hear.

2 month stats

Ethan weighed in at 15lbs even (97th %ile), 24 1/4" long (90th %ile), and 16 1/4" head circumference (82nd %ile).

Shots were not fun but he conked out on the ride home and even stayed asleep when I put him in his crib. Hopefully he'll feel better after a nice long nap.

I will potentially be updating soon with some very exciting news about our house!! Stay tuned...

2 months old already!

Ethan was born 2 months ago today. Wow, it has flown by but it also seems like he's been here a lot longer than 2 months. We've gotten into a "normal" routine now, one in which he sleeps for the better part of the day :) He also has gotten pretty good about sleeping longer stretches at night, normally around 6 hours but once as long as 9!

He's moved into a big crib now, he no longer was fitting in his bassinet. He also is quite the scratcher!! Despite me keeping his nails trimmed super short, and his arms tightly swaddled when I put him down for naps and bedtime, he manages to wiggle his hands out and dig into his cheeks and forehead. It's horrible to go get him in the morning and find blood, poor guy.

He loves to smile and coo at us, and even has the cutest little chuckle that just cracks me up. He's gotten so big, he now wears 6mo clothes pretty regularly, but many 3mo ones still fit, especially pants. Our pile of outgrown clothes sure has grown though in these past few weeks. We have our two month checkup on Friday, so I'll have some stats to share soon.

first mom's day with Ethan

All dressed up, and then he spit up on both of us. Go figure :)

We spent the evening with family, hanging out and having fun. We also celebrated Chen's birthday!

we've gotten the hang of it

Ethan seems to have gotten the hang of saying "ooo" "aaa" and "heh" and a few other little sounds. I love it when he seems to chuckle along with a smile, it's so cute.

trying so hard to talk

Ethan is trying really hard to use his voice :) He looks at your mouth when you talk, and moves his mouth, sticks out his tongue, etc. It's so fun to watch him try to figure it out. And he still loves to smile at us!

Steve, his dad, and our brother in law Cordelle went down to Lafayette this weekend for a power work weekend. They spent it working on the house, fixing it up with a fresh set of eyes to hopefully attract a buyer! We still have yet to get an offer, so we'd like to change that soon :) I think that they are all a bit sore and tired, but we're so thankful that they were able to get a significant amount of work done.
