These were taken over thanksgiving. I don't think I ever shared them since they're from Steve's phone so here they are.

Christmas morning

I caught Ethan on video when he came down on Christmas morning. I love that he whispers "ohh. big truck" when he sees his car for the first time.

We had a lovely Christmas, filled with family, presents, amazing food, and creating memories. We are having a restful week so far, as well. Steve has had several days off, so when we weren't sick with the flu he's gotten some great house projects accomplished as well. Our garage door quit on us, so he installed a new one. Amazingly wonderfully quiet!! I am amazed at how loud the old one was now that the new one is up. Plus, we now have a pincode entry - luxurious :) And then he has replaced several of our bathroom ceiling fans which are now also wonderfully more quiet than the previous ones were.

So I'm finally getting around to uploading some of the videos off my phone, yay! Ethan has become quite the chatterbox lately. He copies everything we say, and narrates everything we do. I caught a little of his chattering on video before his cousin Saige arrived the other day. He was watching out the window for her, wanting to share his cookie monster doll with her, although you wouldn't know that he was excited to share with her once she did arrive :)

And I have been trying to get videos of all the cute things that Ethan's been doing or saying, he's just too on the go for me to catch everything. He loves this game, though I don't know how I feel about the game where the funny line is to yell "NOOOO SLEEPING!" haha.

And his all-time favorite Bible story right now is David and Goliath. He actually has a couple of his storybook Bible pages memorized and will say the words right along with us! He even acts out the story and gets super excited about falling down. I caught a little of him doing it today, although it doesn't even catch a glimpse of how excited he usually gets when he falls down :)

The boys are both sleeping soundly and I'm about to head out to pick up our bags at the airport. The good news is that we arrived about 4 hrs earlier than we would have arrived by getting on an earlier flight home - what a huge blessing! Our bags didn't make the connection but that is a small price to pay for an early bedtime for my tired guys. We had a great trip to visit my family, and my brother Joe was even able to get off work to be there too. I might just have to register Ethan for swimming classes soon because he absolutely loved the water. No fear hopping off the side to mama as you can see in the last pic. He was blowing bubbles in the water and splashing away. He wouldn't leave the poolside on Sunday afternoon, and I was starting to worry that he hadn't eaten anything since breakfast so around 3pm grandma brought some lunch to the pool and he ate without having to get out :) What a great trip!

Ethan is having a blast with his Californian cousins this week! He loves watching the "big boys" run around and we're also doing a lot of fun things this week too, like the zoo.

8th anniversary

Steve and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary yesterday. We had a fun, casual dinner out accompanied by our little man and enjoyed his fascination and interest in everything that was going on around him. I also took the little guy to his 15 month appointment yesterday, so more stats to come. He's growing up right before our eyes!

teeth coming like crazy!

Ethan's gotten 4 teeth in the past couple of weeks, and two more are just about to pop through. That will make 6 teeth in a month's time! Double what he had a few weeks ago, crazy.

Oh yeah, and it's my 30th birthday today :) Great day, lot of love from family and friends, much to celebrate, and lots of people to do so with.

Easter weekend

We're really excited around here for Easter this weekend. It will be a fun weekend filled with family and friends. And here are a few cute Ethan pictures in the mean time :)

bumps and bruises

Ethan's newfound mobility has been the source of a lot of grief for him lately. Just on the day of his birthday party, he fell and hit his face on a step, right in the corner of his eye. He also fell from a standing position and hit his head directly on the tile floor, and must have bit down really hard on something in his mouth because it created a lot of blood. Poor guy! He must slip and have a melt-down about 5 times each day, so hopefully he'll gain more balance quickly!

Anyway, my mom and brother Jay came up for the weekend and we got to throw Ethan a birthday party. Here are some pics from the day.
